A multi-skilled graduate role in a market-leading environmentally-focused and innovative business, that supplies sustainably-grown wool in various formats for a wide range of end uses, to a multitude of diverse industries in the UK and worldwide.
This role provides a practical opportunity to learn & gain experience within all aspects of the business. Primarily concentrating on order handling & the complex processing of the wool from farm gate to final end uses either in fibre, component or fully finished product form.

The vision of the company is to use wool from ReGenerative Agricultural practices on well-managed farms to drive positive environmental and social change. Based within the historical Salts Mill building set in the World Heritage Site of Saltaire, the business is aligning the famous textile history of Bradford & the wool trade with a new sustainable vision to use these products to help reverse climate change.

Building on its rich heritage (the company was established in 1888) & in depth knowledge of the wool industry, H Dawson has additionally created HD® Wool Apparel Insulation – a natural, highly desirable and technical replacement for synthetic garment insulation. This brand received investment from the broadcaster Sky through its impact investment arm, Sky Ocean Ventures.
The company more recently established The Woolkeepers®, a community of farmers and brands to drive positive change. The organisation works directly with key selected farmers who observe best practice protocols such as Organic & Red Tractor.

SKILLS REQUIRED
Technical knowledge of textiles would be an advantage.
A keen interest & passion for the environment.
Curiosity and a desire to deliver excellence through attention to detail.
Highly computer literate.
JOB SPECIFICATION
Administration and account handling for components & finished wool products
You will work with internal and external customers, from well-known specialist brands to smaller innovative businesses supplying a wide variety of wool-based products. You will manage and administer orders and production from raw material to finished product. An additional ‘hands on’ aspect of the role will involve preparing & presenting sampling material for customer consideration. The successful candidate has the potential to develop customer-facing communication, from order confirmation through to final delivery of goods.
The company's manufacturing partners are predominantly UK based, linked to the wool textiles industy. Your colleagues will secure the wool fibre and manage the journey through raw state, to semi-prepared raw material. You will manage the process from this state along a critical path process, through the UK factory base, to create finished goods ready to be sold in the UK or exported.
You will work with a variety of systems and will resolve challenges to keep all customer deliveries on time & within allocated costs. As a key customer contact point for queries, you will liaise with internal colleagues as required, to allow smooth running of orders.
Your ‘can do’ attitude will be essential as will your willingness & aspiration to continually learn. You will be involved in multiple aspects of the business which will make this a very varied and fulfilling role with the opportunity to grow and develop your skills.
