The Woolkeepers® program has become the first - and the only - Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) farm group in the UK and Europe. RWS is one of the most recognised farm auditing schemes that demonstrate positive practice within a UK sheep farming system.

We have a proud history of raising industry standards. We prepare each fleece by hand to create the highest quality wool products and lead the way in substantiating our claims.
We have historically worked with the main UK Farm Assurance standard, Red Tractor, to create the Red Tractor Wool Standard, one of the entry-level standards used to support Farm Assurance claims in the UK.
However, we believe that standards can still be higher, hence our drive to set up the Responsible Wool Standard farm network in the UK. RWS is one of the most globally recognised farm auditing schemes that demonstrate positive practice. This certifies high levels of social and animal welfare, land management and transport criteria.

Our wool is sourced through the Woolkeepers®, a community of farmers who take RWS standards seriously and use them as a way of driving positive improvement on their farms. Our engagement with The Woolkeepers® community is not just about sustainability; it’s about creating a cycle of value that supports farmers, the environment, and the end consumer.

HDWool insulation products combine hand-prepared Woolkeepers® British wool with a non-GMO PLA biopolymer, creating a light, lofty, and high performing material. Our Woolkeepers® British wool is extremely resilient so it is particularly well-suited to garment insulation, offering superior durability while retaining wool’s natural thermoregulating properties. This means it can both insulate and cool depending on conditions–while also generating warmth when damp, and naturally absorbing odours thanks to its antibacterial qualities.
The PLA biopolymer enhances performance by preventing the wool from felting, helping to maintain openness in the structure. This improves insulation, drying and breathability, ensuring long-lasting comfort and performance.
